Chelsea’s new manager Carlo Ancelotti has revealed his delight at his players’ current level of fitness.

The Italian has only been at the helm of the club for a matter of weeks after ending his eight-year AC Milan stay this summer.

Chelsea are at the start of their four-game pre-season tour of USA and Ancelotti is pleased with his players’ fitness.

After spending time on the training ground, Ancelotti is now looking for his squad to step things up on the pitch.

“They are all in good condition,” Ancelotti told Chelsea’s official website.

“We want to improve our physical condition and quality of play. This game we will try something different and this is our objective.

“The games are the most important training. We will have to improve the condition, quality of the play, find the concentration to prepare a game, and for this we arrive at the right moment.”

Chelsea tackle Seattle on Saturday and Ancelotti has hinted he will utilize most of his squad throughout the encounter.

Ancelotti has confirmed the likes of Didier Drogba, Michael Essien, Salomon Kalou and John Obi Mikel will all play a part in the match.

“For sure we will do substitutions,” he continued.

“The African players… have to improve the training and physical condition, but after (that) the Africans will play.

“The first match against Seattle we change, we change, we change.”
